About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced
Electrical Technician with a strong background in the
primary tobacco processing industry. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure smooth and continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in the primary tobacco processing area.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical panels, control circuits, PLC systems, sensors, and drives.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure minimal downtime during production.
- Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, and calibration.
- Read, interpret, and rectify electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and machine layout plans.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, checklists, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company standards, and JAFZA policies.
- Collaborate with the mechanical and production teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and energy-saving projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the primary tobacco industry (experience is a must).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, sensors, motors, and industrial control equipment.
- Hands-on experience with production line machinery used in tobacco processing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot using electrical diagrams and machine plans.
