Job Summary
The Electrical Technician (LV/MV/HV) is responsible for installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of
low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical networks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair LV, MV, and HV electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, panels, breakers, and cables.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.
- Carry out cable termination, glanding, and jointing for LV/MV/HV cables.
- Test electrical systems (insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, functional testing).
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore power safely.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and checklists.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant trade.
- Electrical technician certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 36 years of experience as Electrical Technician.
- Hands-on experience with LV/MV/HV systems.
- Experience in industrial plants, substations, utilities, or oil & gas facilities preferred.
- GCC experience is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults.
- Familiarity with testing instruments and tools.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
