We are looking for an experienced Electricity Metering Technician / Electrician to support electricity metering and field operations for a leading utilities organization in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain and replace electricity meters.
- Troubleshoot faulty meters and associated electrical equipment.
- Perform electricity connection, disconnection and reconnection activities.
- Conduct meter readings using handheld or automated meter-reading systems.
- Verify meter accuracy and identify abnormal readings or consumption discrepancies.
- Support investigation of metering and billing-related technical issues.
- Maintain accurate meter-reading and field activity records.
- Interact with customers during installation, inspection and service activities.
- Follow electrical safety, HSEQ and operational procedures.
- Complete assigned field activities within required timelines.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline.
- Experience in electricity metering, power distribution, electrical maintenance or utility operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of meter installation, testing and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems and safe working practices.
- Exposure to meter-reading systems/handheld devices is preferred.
- Good troubleshooting, communication and customer-handling skills.
- Utility/electricity distribution experience will be highly preferred
