About Your Team
Our ELV Engineering team is focused on delivering reliable, wellcoordinated, and highquality lowvoltage solutions across every project. Working closely with Technical and MEP managers, we ensure smooth engineering followup, efficient site execution, and strong crosstrade coordinationdriving project success through teamwork, clarity, and technical excellence.
Your Role
As an ELV Engineer, you will
Engineering Follow Up
- Working with the technical manager for the systems or the MEP manager on the project based on the type of project, the responsibility of daily follow ups for the engineering will be part of the role of this person.
- Review all Material Submittals with the technical managers to ensure that the submittals are in line with the requirement of the project.
- Raise relevant RFI's / SCR's to ensure that any area that is unclear within the specifications, or information outstanding is received in a timely manner.
- Attend all workshops with the engineering teams from the consultant to ensure that there is relevant information available at these workshops.
Site Progress Monitoring
- Based on the size of the project the ELV Engineer might be responsible for all the ELV systems (Security Control System, SCN, AV, BGM, CFA, TETRA, FAS & PAVA) on that site or a few and also responsible for the implementation of the same on site.
- Liaise with the MEP manager on site and ensure that the MEP contractor is aware of the imminent requirements of the construction and operation teams of ALEC and ensure that the requirements are converted into action by the MEP contractor especially in terms of the ELV systems.
- Liaise with the MEP construction manager on site and ensure that the requirements of the MEP Contractor are implemented through the construction teams and vice versa.
- Liaise with the construction team from the specialist MEP contractor and monitor the work and progress on the site and provide feedback to the MEP Manager on site for action.
- Ensure that the ELV works on site are done as per the QAQC requirements by liaising with the site QAQC teams.
- Attend any technical workshops with the consultant for the ELV systems and ensure that the same are implemented as solutions by the contractor.
- Have solutions or to be able to seek solutions through the site MEP Manager or the ALEC central teams; through experience for most engineering / technical issues to be faced on site in relation to MEP.
Reporting
- Alert the MEP manager / MEP construction manager of any deviations from the specifications and drawings that might come up within the ELV systems and ensure that adequate reporting is provided to the MEP managers on site.
- Have regular site meetings weekly / monthly to ensure that the ELV works being carried out in a timely manner.
- Highlight to the site construction manager / MEP manager on a weekly basis the progress on site and the key issues that need to be highlighted in meetings with the client / contractor.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the MEP manager to ensure that there is adequate information to take action if required in a timely manner.
Coordination
- The Role also requires that the person takes the lead in coordinating the ELV requirements with the various trades, like ELV systems, construction etc.
- In addition, the person will also be responsible to put together documents such as share of works / typical installation details etc. with help from the MEP Contractor and the same are to be done in an early stage to avoid confusion and scope creep on site.
- The role also involves working with the other departments on site and ensure that there is adequate coordination between the ELV Teams with all other stakeholders on site.
- The Drawing coordination will be led by the Engineering managers for the site (Technical Managers within MEP department) but the day to day coordination is required to be done in conjunction with all other vendors.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- 46 years MEP construction experience, including 23 years in the UAE.
- Working knowledge and design knowledge of most electrical systems with ability to learn and adapt into the other MEP systems as required.
- Working with ICT, Security Control System, SCN, AV, BGM, CFA, TETRA, FAS & PAVA and Life safety systems.
- Knowledge of local codes and standards.
- Hands on experience working on site.
- Good communication skills are a must for the position.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint etc. is a mandatory requirement.
