Description
Job Purpose:
Perform routine and specialized assisted reproductive technology procedures and techniques under the direction of the physician.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Performs basic ART laboratory techniques.
- Performs oocyte retrieval/pick-ups.
- Removal of cumulus cells from oocytes (Oocyte denudation).
- Fertilizes oocytes through recognized methods available (Conventional IVF, ICSI) as the case may require, through the acceptable forms.
- Performs embryo culture techniques.
- Performs Infra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
- Evaluates embryo development and records results in a good comprehensive order.
- Performs embryo transfers (ET) and Pro nuclear Stage Tubal Transfer (PROST).
- Embryo cryopreservation.
- Embryo thawing.
- Prepares tubes, dishes and transfer media for the daily cases.
- Requisition and maintenance of reagents and other IVF laboratory supplies.
- Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of IVF Laboratory.
- Have documented training, which includes performing at least 60 ART procedures under supervision subject to interview and evaluation.
- Obtain at least 20 — 30 hours of accredited continuing education annually in ART or clinical laboratory practice.
- Performed at least 20 ART procedures per year
Education
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent.
Language
Fluency in written & spoken English & Arabic.
Licenses / Certifications
License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA)
