Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, physician-educator with demonstrated commitment to excellence in medical education and clinical practice in an academic medical center, preferably in North America, to teach in the integrated Foundational Sciences courses and clerkships of the undergraduate medical program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Education:
  • Co-lead the Emergency Medicine Clerkship. Teach in the integrated foundational sciences using diverse pedagogical approaches, mentoring students to develop clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional growth in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Clinical Care:
  • Delivery of emergency care to adult patients in hospital-based settings and participating in service coverage. The faculty member will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
  • Research and Scholarship:
  • Engage in clinical, educational, or translational research, with both local and international collaborations. Contribute to publications, presentations, and grant-funded projects, advancing the mission of academic excellence.

Education & Experience

Must Have

  • M.D. or its accepted equivalent.
  • American Board certification in Emergency Medicine or its accepted equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching and clinical practice in an academic medical center, preferably in North America.
  • A record of excellence in teaching and scholarship.

Should Have

  • Minimum of 3 years of significant teaching experience, including at the undergraduate level, in a university or academic health system with a strong record of excellence in and commitment to teaching.
  • Experience with several learning modalities, including bedside teaching, simulation-based teaching, problem-based learning (PBL), lectures, small group sessions, journal clubs, and flipped classroom approaches.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in integrating emerging technologies into development and delivery of medical education to enhance student learning and assessment.
  • A track record of clinical or educational research would be highly advantageous.
