POSITION SUMMARY

The Emergency Response Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Emergency Management System (EMS) to ensure effective emergency preparedness and response across NGHC facilities.The role involves coordinating emergency response planning, conducting drills and exercises, maintaining emergency response procedures, and ensuring readiness of personnel and systems to respond to potential incidents.The position works closely with operational departments, emergency support services, and external agencies to ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Emergency Preparedness and Planning

  • Support the preparation and revision of the Emergency Management System (EMS) to ensure alignment with company requirements and operational needs.
  • Review and maintain Local Emergency Response Plans (LERP) for all departments in manufacturing areas, including Non-Process Buildings (NPB), ensuring all emergency preparedness aspects are covered.
  • Review and maintain the Service Emergency Response Plan (SERP) for Emergency Support Services.
  • Ensure that recommendations from drill observations and action plans related to LERP and SERP are properly implemented and monitored.
  • Maintain the readiness and functionality of the Emergency Control Center.

Emergency Drills and Exercises

  • Coordinate and conduct emergency drills across manufacturing areas, non-process buildings, and community areas throughout the year.
  • Organize and conduct Disaster Drills for each department annually in coordination with the relevant internal departments.
  • Coordinate and support Catastrophe Drills in collaboration with external agencies and relevant authorities, including evacuation procedures for non-essential personnel.
  • Conduct post-drill debriefings after each exercise to review performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed drill reports, including timelines, observations, and corrective actions.
  • Track and monitor drill observations and action items until closure.
  • Facilitate and conduct Tabletop Exercises for different operational shifts within the Manufacturing & Operations departments.

General Responsibilities

  • Act as thedepartment focal point for internal and external audits related to emergency preparedness and response.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to preparedness and response for emergencies involving hazardous materials, chemical/biological incidents, epidemics, and pandemics.
  • Support the development of medical services policies and standards related to emergency response.
  • Ensure effective coordination with relevant stakeholders to maintain emergency preparedness across the organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager Fire & Emergency Response.



SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness planning and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience in planning and conducting emergency drills and exercises.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or vocational diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in emergency preparedness and response activities, including planning and conducting drill
