Functions:
1) Maintain operational readiness by assessing response needs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting regular audits and drills across fire, medical, and security domains.
2) Conduct fire safety oversight by implementing risk assessments, monitoring contractor compliance, and ensuring regular inspection of emergency systems across all operational zones.
3) Manage safety operations by overseeing budgets, coordinating interdepartmental planning, and developing SOPs and training programs.
4) Oversee medical emergency preparedness by developing protocols, ensuring staff training, maintaining equipment, coordinating with EMS, and conducting regular drills.
5) Lead mobile security operations by implementing patrol protocols, conducting risk assessments, coordinating with authorities, and training staff in threat response.
6) Coordinate emergency preparedness by scheduling and delivering ERU training, credible scenario drills, and first aid/fire warden programs for island personnel.
Qualification Requirements:
Education
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice , Diploma in Fire Service Operations
Relevant work experience
Minimum 8 years in safety or emergency management roles. Supervisory experience in fire, rescue, HSE or security operations.
Professional knowledge, skills and expertise
Knowledge of NFPA, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards Strong leadership and crisis management skills NFPA Fire Officers course or JOIFF Fire Officer course or national equivalent.
Knowledge and experience in emergency response activities. Knowledge of fixed and portable fire systems and provisions.
Previous experience of carrying out technical document reviews.
Experienced with the development of technical documents and procedures.
Previous management experience in a professional fire service.
Operational incident command experience.
