Overview Of The Role:
Air Waybill Management
- The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in managing air freight transportation for Morgan Cargo Ltd, ensuring compliance with international regulations. This position involves meticulous oversight of air waybill issuance, coordination of transportation and storage conditions, and handling of dangerous goods documentation. The role requires strong communication with clients and agents to facilitate smooth and efficient logistics operations, as well as proactive management of any issues related to shipment liability and claims.
Air Waybill Management
- Ensure accurate completion and issuance of air waybills, adhering to all applicable conventions like the Montreal and Warsaw Conventions.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and proper handling of air waybills, including any modifications required by the shipper.
- Monitor and verify all details on issued air waybills for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Certify that consignments containing dangerous goods are properly described and packaged according to Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Ensure all documentation for dangerous goods is complete and compliant with international air safety standards.
- Coordinate with carriers to manage transportation and storage conditions, ensuring cargo is kept at specified conditions (e.g., 2-8 degrees Celsius for chilled goods).
- Supervise cargo handling processes to ensure goods are handled with care and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for agents and clients regarding consignment details and shipment conditions.
- Communicate effectively with clients and agents to provide updates and resolve any shipment issues promptly.
- Inform shippers about liability limitations and options for increasing cargo value coverage.
- Manage any claims for loss, damage, or delay, ensuring they are addressed within the stipulated time frames.
- Proficient in logistics software and air freight procedures.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and conventions.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding.
- Familiarity with international air waybill documentation and processes.
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations and compliance requirements.
