Job Summary
The Endoscopy Technician supports the endoscopy team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care in compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi standards. The role includes assisting in procedures, handling specialized equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare endoscopy suites in accordance with DOH infection control and safety standards
Assist physicians during procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and other diagnostic/therapeutic interventions
Perform pre-cleaning, high-level disinfection (HLD), and sterilization of endoscopes as per DOH and manufacturer guidelines
Ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of endoscopes using traceability systems
Assist in patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care under nursing supervision
Monitor patient condition during procedures and report abnormalities to clinical staff
Maintain accurate documentation in line with DOH and hospital policies
Ensure availability and proper stock management of consumables and accessories
Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with biomedical team
Comply with DOH policies, JCI standards (if applicable), and hospital protocols
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical/Allied Health field (e.g., Nursing Assistant, Medical Technician, or equivalent)
Valid DOH License / DOH Eligibility Letter as Endoscopy Technician or Allied Health Professional
Minimum 2 years of experience in endoscopy or relevant clinical area
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) (mandatory)
Knowledge of infection control, HLD processes, and endoscopy equipment
Familiarity with DOH regulations and healthcare compliance standards

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
