JOB PURPOSE
The Engine Sales Associate is responsible for driving sales and providing excellent customer service for marine engines, parts, and related products. This role involves building relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending the most suitable products. The associate will work with technical teams to provide product information, manage inventory, and ensure customer satisfaction.
C. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist customers in selecting the appropriate marine engines, parts, and accessories based on their requirements and specifications.
Conduct sales transactions, manage orders in SAP ERP, and provide post-sales support.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercury Marine engines, features, and benefits to effectively answer customer questions and make recommendations.
Collaborate with technical and service teams to address complex customer inquiries and provide troubleshooting advice as needed.
Monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of engines and spare parts.
Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely restocking and order fulfilment.
Maintain accurate records of sales, customer interactions, and transactions in the SAP system.
Prepare and present regular sales reports to the Sales Manager.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands.
Gather customer feedback and report on market trends to assist in strategic planning.
Participate in trade shows, product demonstrations, and promotional events to represent the company and showcase marine engines.
Coordinate with the marketing team to promote new products, discounts, and other sales campaigns.
D. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Technology, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years in sales, preferably in marine or automotive industries.
Hands-on experience with SAP ERP for order management, inventory tracking, and sales reporting.
Technical understanding of marine engines and related products.
Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel for customer visits, trade shows, or events as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and con, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP (SAP) is an advantage.

In-depth knowledge of marine engines and the ability to explain technical details to customers clearly.
Strong sales skills, including identifying customer needs, closing deals, and building lasting relationships.
