u00A0JOB PURPOSE:

At ADNOC Drilling OFS, this position is responsible for implementing directional drilling and Measurement While Drilling/ Logging While Drilling operations at wellsite. Also supervising and instructing Junior Field Engineers on wellsite work and activities, as well as providing advice and direction to external customers and third-party wellsite colleagues.u00A0This position is also responsible for maintaining frequent internal and external customer contacts in order to maintain and grow the companyu2019s status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry. This position is responsible for providing Logging While Drilling (LWD) solutions atu00A0well sites along with his capability to drive the operation as an experience Directional driller.

  • Under minimal supervision, provide direct instruction and supervision to junior Field Engineers on day-to-day wellsite work and activities.
  • Provide advice and direction to external customer and third-party wellsite colleagues as appropriate.u00A0
  • Provide resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems at the wellsite where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line's tool(s) and/or service(s).
  • Work is evaluated upon completion by a Field Supervisor (where appropriate), local Operations Management and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met.u00A0
  • Act as a project leader and mentor junior field engineers.
  • Maintain frequent intra-organizational and external customer contacts with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with ADNOC Drilling Standard Operating Procedures, HSE policies and Legal Compliance requirements.
  • Successfully complete additional advanced technical training and assigned well site development programs.
  • Providing resolution to drilling problems of moderately complex scope at the well site where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercising judgment to determine the appropriate action at the well site when performing well site surveys ,directional work, and LWD work.

  • Technical, HSE and on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Implement directional drilling and Measurement While Drilling/ Logging While Drilling operations at wellsite.
  • Assemble the BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) as per well/engineering plan.
  • Prepare/ Program downhole tools and surface equipment for the required services.
  • Administer the operation, inspection and maintenance of motors and downhole tools at rig site.
  • Generate daily and Final Logs and Well reports on services perform.
  • Maintain well profile plots and provide clients with directional survey data.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure BHA specification and engineering optimization parameters are realized.
  • Maintain records of equipment at wellsite
  • Ability to interpret, program, and troubleshoot LWD data when received in the system.
  • Participate in field incident root cause analysis.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Has regular and daily contact with Operations Coordinator, Drilling Services and other department personnel relating to drilling services matters.

External

  • Has contact with client representatives to discuss changes to drilling service programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • BSc in an engineering discipline, or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Good computer knowledge.
  • Ability to successfully complete advanced technical training and assigned well site development programs.
  • Ability to take direction and work efficiently in teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous manner.
  • Must have visual acuity and attention to detail, enough to monitor multiple computer screens, record logs and readouts for long periods of uninterrupted time.
  • Good mechanical aptitude required.
