Job Summary:
The Engineer II, Cost Control is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets, project schedules, and company financial objectives. The role involves cost planning, forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and supporting project teams in maintaining cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- :Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets and cost baselines
- .Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget tracking reports
- .Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- .Review project expenditures, commitments, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and change orders
- .Coordinate with project managers, planning engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost monitoring
- .Support preparation of project budgets, estimates, and cost forecasts
- .Track project progress and assess financial impact on project performance
- .Maintain cost control systems, records, and supporting documentation
- .Participate in project reviews, risk assessments, and cost optimization initiatives
- .Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and financial controls
.Qualifications & Requirements
- :Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- .Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Cost Control Engineering
- .Strong experience in Construction Projects and Infrastructure Projects is mandatory
- .Experience in monitoring project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial reporting
- .Good understanding of project control practices, contracts, BOQ, and project costing methodologies
- .Proficiency in Oracle ERP / SAP / Cost Control Systems is preferred
- .Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- .Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- .Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a project environment
.Preferred Experience
- :Experience in large-scale construction, roads, utilities, infrastructure, or mixed-use development projects
- .Familiarity with project planning tools such as Primavera P6 is an advantage
.
