Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Developing cost-effective and value-added engineering solutions throughout projects. Implementing plant change management strategies in response to changing market conditions. Providing technical expertise and support to project management activities through various phases of projects and implementing the pipelines document management and control system accurately.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure that consultants / engineering contractorsu2019 designs are submitted in accordance with the scope of work and that facilities delivered to end-users are safe, reliable, operable & maintainable.
- Review and approve design works such as drawings, specifications and other technical documents for pipeline engineering for all types of projects in accord with the Project plans and objectives.
- Develop cost-effective and value-added engineering solutions throughout the duration of projects to improve the quality of the outputs.
- Carry out design for in-house engineered works including drawings, specifications/ data sheets and bills of quantities to support and implement plant change management.
- Provide technical expertise to support project management activities through all phases of projects spanning engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning through hand-over of project facilities to the end users.
- Implement interdisciplinary engineering coordination within the division related to pipeline project work scope to ensure that all company requirements are met
- Participates in engineering projects related to pipeline. Includes reviewing tender package, witnessing commissioning, following up to ensure timely receipt of commissioning and spares and manufacturers maintenance manuals.
- Plans and direct pigging operations as per network availability and prepares monthly pigging schedule.
- Liaises with Corrosion Section personnel in routine chemical injection and batch treatment programs in accordance with Corrosion & Inspection guidelines and Operating procedures.
- Audits and reviews operating procedures, philosophy etc. to ensure capability of network to transport throughput from Fields to Terminal.
- Manage engineering documentation through establishing preliminary pipeline route alignments and carrying out necessary coordination with all pipeline departments.
- Evaluate the asset documents to assist in the implementation of pipelines document management and control system.
Supervision
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Material Science/Chemical Engineering Discipline or relevant professional qualification.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 6 years of experience in Pipelines Engineering with full knowledge of HSE in a plant and pipelines environment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Sound knowledge of international pipeline, corrosion, cathodic protection engineering standards & codes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices and technology trends, especially in the pipeline within oil & gas.
- Good understanding of all engineering disciplines, risk management, loss prevention techniques.
- Working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, standards and legislation associated. with the inspection of plant and equipment and be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures.
- Technical ability in understanding codes, standards and inspection methods.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices.
- Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording.
