Job Purpose

To manage and execute the procurement of construction-related materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective and timely manner, while ensuring alignment with project requirements, company standards, and contractual obligations.

Key Accountability Areas
  • Review technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify material requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, delivery time, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate commercial and technical terms with suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy of terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align material deliveries with project schedules.
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or documentation.
  • Maintain vendor records, and all procurement-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, project-specific requirements, and local/international procurement regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure long-term value and reliability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, suggest alternate materials or sources, and support value engineering initiatives.

Role Accountability
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience in construction or contracting companies.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications, and project cycles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software (ERP systems such as SAP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of local and international markets and vendors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
