Engineer - Projects Planning & Design

Job Description

KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES:

# Administer contracts during the course of the work to ensure compliance with proposed design, material

specifications, budget, contract, and schedule.

# Develop material and equipment standards for new and existing RTA products/materials

# Review consultants submitted work products and recommend adjustments as appropriate.

# Manage the employee's Individual performance plan and support them to achieve their goals as per their roles

and responsibilities.

# Implement use of new technologies, cost saving techniques/materials, improved safety procedures, and least

disruptive RTA construction practices.

# Perform design work including researching data, conducting feasibility and economic studies and determining

design criteria in accordance with the required standards and codes for assigned projects.

# Collecting and analysing data, assessing the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design and

suggesting possible design solutions

# Confer with other inter-departmental personnel and field forces representatives of other utilities, agencies,

engineering firms contractors, and others regarding RTA service, supply, or related RTA civil/ engineering

problems.

# Organize, plan, prioritize work, and delegate responsibilities: developing specific goals and plans to prioritize,

organize, and accomplish the work.

# Responsible for the schedule coordination, internal RTA coordination, attending meetings to better understand

the clients requirements evaluate, recommend, and prepare contract change orders as necessary

# Perform any other responsibilities related to position when appropriate.

# Prepare projects documents including project justifications, budget analyses, calculations, plans, specifications

cost estimates and schedules for the assigned projects.

# Review and check engineering drawings, plans, computations estimates and reports for completeness accuracy,

and soundness of applied engineering principles, standards and policies used by the RTA.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND EXPERIECE:

Education

# Bachelor degree in Engineering: Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electronic and Electrical from a recognized

university.
