Role Description The Engineer – Renewable Energy will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing renewable energy systems that support SEKEM's agricultural and industrial operations. This full-time, on-site role in Cairo, Egypt includes evaluating energy needs, developing technical solutions, and overseeing implementation of projects involving wind, steam, and other sustainable power systems. The role involves conducting feasibility studies, preparing technical specifications, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. The engineer will monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to align energy projects with SEKEM's sustainability goals and reporting on project progress and outcomes are key parts of the day-to-day activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess expertise in Power Generation and Power Systems for agricultural and industrial applications.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Wind Energy technologies and their integration into hybrid renewable solutions.
- Candidates should possess strong Electrical Engineering skills, including system design, load analysis, and grid integration.
- Candidates should possess experience working with Steam systems and thermal processes in energy projects.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in renewable energy project design, implementation, and performance monitoring, preferably in industrial or agricultural settings.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and regulations, and to prepare clear technical documentation and reports.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with sustainability concepts, energy efficiency practices, and environmentally responsible engineering is highly beneficial.
- Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
