Establish and develop the Engineering Department, including its organizational structure, operating processes, and technical standards.
Design and optimize production line layouts by product category and style to ensure seamless workflow and material movement.
Plan production stages according to operational sequences, ensuring optimal balance between manpower and machine capacity to achieve target efficiency.
Implement line balancing, workstation layouts, and method engineering techniques to minimize bottlenecks, and nonvalue-added activities.
Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure proper installation, arrangement, and modification of machines aligned with approved layouts.
Develop and maintain detailed operation breakdowns, time studies, and SMV (Standard Minute Value) calculations for all knitwear styles.
Analyze production performance data to identify opportunities for improving line throughput, efficiency, and resource utilization.
Oversee pre-production trials to validate layout designs, methods, capacity requirements, and engineering assumptions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing production costs through layout enhancement, method optimization, and productivity improvement.
Prepare, present, and monitor reports on line efficiency, SMV achievement, and overall engineering contribution to production performance.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree (MBA/Engineering Management) is preferred.
1215 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role or production.
Proven and essential experience in knitwear manufacturing (T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, activewear).
Strong expertise in Work Study, Line Balancing, Method Engineering, and Productivity Improvement methodologies.
Hands-on experience in driving productivity enhancements and waste reduction initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to oversee end-to-end garment manufacturing processes: knitting, cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing.
Proven track record in leading, mentoring, and developing large Industrial Engineering teams.
Ability to design and execute engineering strategies that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to correlate engineering decisions to cost impact, ROI, and profitability.
Knowledge of quality management systems, production audits, and international buyer compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities, especially in fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environments.
