Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engineering design procedures and plans to ensure accurate, timely delivery of tasks by the electrical design team.
- Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, overseeing design services to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency of electrical designs with project specifications, codes, and established design criteria throughout project execution.
- Manage design scope development and support the tendering process, including the selection and oversight of design consultants and third-party reviewers.
- Lead and participate in Value Engineering (VE), constructability reviews, and other design workshops to optimize electrical system design.
- Maintain communication with the Project Management Team on all field-driven design changes and ensure timely
- processing of contract modifications.
- Monitor workload distribution, track project progress, and prepare regular reports for senior management and clients.
- Act as the primary liaison with design consultants to resolve design issues and ensure coordination with construction
- teams.
- Collaborate closely with clients to communicate and resolve ongoing design and construction challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of project drawings, specifications, contractual documents, and construction timelines for electrical works.
Required skills:
- Strong understanding of local and international electrical codes and standards (e.g.,
- NEC, IEC, BS).
- Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and electrical load
- calculation software (e.g., ETAP, Dialux, etc.).
- Expertise in preparing design briefs, design management plans, and reviewing
- consultant deliverables.
- Experience with design coordination, interdisciplinary integration, and
- constructability considerations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to design issues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
