Responsibilities:
HSE Management System Development
- Develop and implement an integrated Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) in alignment with National and INternational Standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Regularly review and update HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the HSE Management System and recommend improvements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across all sites to identify and mitigate potential health, safety, and environmental hazards.
- Develop site-specific Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) for current and future projects.
- Ensure robust emergency response plans are in place and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
Team Leadership and Development
- Define roles and responsibilities for all HSE team members and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for the HSE team and other employees.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit timely HSE reports to internal stakeholders and external entities, including National and INternational STandards.
- Develop processes to promptly notify National and INternational Standards of significant environmental or social incidents.
Contractor and Supplier Management
- Establish a formal supplier and contractor selection process incorporating environmental and social criteria.
- Monitor contractor compliance with HSE standards, particularly regarding the supply chain for electric vehicle batteries.
- Address environmental and social issues identified during supplier evaluations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Grievance Mechanisms
- Build and maintain effective grievance mechanisms for employees and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and awareness programs on key topics such as gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address concerns and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry trends and implement best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.
- Drive initiatives to enhance workplace safety, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7years of experience in HSE management.
- Proven track record of implementing HSE management systems and achieving ISO certifications.
- Experience in working with national and international standards.
- Fluent in English verbal and written.
- ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety.
