Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HSE Lead to join our Factory Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate requirements, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety requirements and HQ guidelines.
- Promote effective communication and awareness of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and coordinate the annual HSE training plan and ensure its successful implementation.
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessment activities across the factory.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct HSE internal audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
- Ensure the proper functionality and periodic inspection of safety devices and emergency equipment.
- Prepare and maintain HSE documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate Health & Safety Committee meetings and follow up on action plans.
- Monitor and report HSE KPIs while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage contractor safety in accordance with company procedures and HSE legislation.
- Implement and monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Inspect workplaces, machinery, and equipment to ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
- Lead machinery safety inspections and maintain related checklists.
- Develop, maintain, and test emergency response plans for fires, explosions, and natural disasters.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the direct manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of HSE experience within manufacturing or production environments.
- ISO 45001 Certification is mandatory.
- NEBOSH Certification (General, Fire Safety, or Process Safety) is required.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian Labor Law and Health & Safety regulations.
- Proven experience working with hazardous chemicals and chemical safety management.
- Experience in manufacturing; warehouse experience is an advantage.
- Professional certification in Fire Safety and Civil Defense.
- Five-Star Occupational Health & Safety Audit certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of BSCI audit requirements is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
