JOB OVERVIEW
The Equity Sales Manager drives equity and equity derivative sales coverage for institutional clients — including asset managers, trust and insurance companies, and corporates — generating trade ideas with the structuring desk, executing client trades, and building long-term relationships to grow revenue for Daman Securities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with trade booking, processing, and client service queries.
- Develop desk marketing materials, pitch books, and sales guides to support client meetings, roadshows, and new product launches.
- Assist with client onboarding, liaising with clients and internal support groups.
- Monitor market opportunities and evolving client needs, understanding each client's demand and investment objectives.
- Liaise with the structuring desk to generate and propose trade ideas, and illustrate trade strategies to clients.
- Follow trades closely through to execution and provide proper after-trade service.
- Maintain core coverage of asset managers, trust and insurance companies, and other non-banking institutions including corporates.
- Liaise with equity research analysts and participate in corporate marketing and roadshow events.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Origination, and Legal to develop and source client-facing and internal materials.
- Ensure proper approvals from Legal, Risk, and Compliance prior to trading.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor pricing models, initiating trade corrections or price improvements as necessary.
- Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.
- Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Master's degree is advantageous.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Self-starter, professional, and able to work well within a team environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UAE and GCC equity and derivatives markets, with an understanding of the macro events, industries, and businesses driving them.
- Highly developed sales, persuasion, and negotiation skills, with a track record of building strong client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a well-organised, customer-service-oriented approach.
- Strong client interaction and trade execution skills, with sound technical understanding of the products sold.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with project management and business planning experience.
- High ethical standards and sound judgment in a fast-paced trading environment.
Work Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in equity or equity derivative sales within the financial services industry, ideally covering institutional clients such as asset managers, insurance companies, or corporates.
