Electromechanical Pricing Engineer
Job Purpose
To prepare, study, and price electromechanical projects (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Low Current Systems) accurately, ensuring competitive cost proposals that meet client requirements while maintaining company profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs based on approved drawings and specifications.
- Price electromechanical works, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Analyze tender documents issued by clients or consultants.
- Request, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals and ensure the timely submission of tenders.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams to obtain required pricing inputs.
- Identify cost risks and propose value engineering solutions when applicable.
- Maintain and update cost databases and monitor market price fluctuations.
- Support project teams with cost reviews during project execution when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering).
- Minimum of (X) years of experience in electromechanical cost estimation and pricing.
- Good knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and technical specifications.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOQs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Skilled in using AutoCAD for drawing review and quantity take-off.
- Has strong communication and coordination skills with suppliers and subcontractors in the field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the same or a related electromechanical pricing/estimation field.
