Estimation Engineer – Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems
Job Summary
Prepares accurate estimates, quotations, BOQs, material take-offs, and technical-commercial proposals for Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and Voice Evacuation systems, complying with project specifications, international standards, and UAE Civil Defence requirements.

Prepares accurate estimates, quotations, BOQs, material take-offs, and technical-commercial proposals for Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and Voice Evacuation systems, complying with project specifications, international standards, and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scopes.
- Prepare material take-offs and BOQs for:
- Fire Alarm and Detection Systems
- Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems
- Voice Evacuation and Public Address Systems
- Review architectural, electrical, reflected ceiling, and MEP drawings.
- Select compliant equipment and materials.
- Prepare costs for equipment, materials, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Develop proposals, quotations, compliance statements, and tender clarifications.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams.
- Identify discrepancies, exclusions, assumptions, qualifications, and variations.
- Obtain supplier pricing, technical information, and product availability.
- Prepare supplier comparisons and support negotiations.
- Propose compliant value-engineering alternatives.
- Update estimates for addenda, revised drawings, and comments.
- Maintain price, supplier, estimation, and historical-cost databases.
- Support handover with approved quotations, BOQs, and documentation.
- Addressable and Conventional Fire Alarm Systems
- Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
- Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems
- Central Battery and Self-Contained Emergency Lighting Systems
- Voice Evacuation and Emergency Public Address Systems
- Cause-and-Effect Matrix requirements
- BMS, HVAC, Access Control, Firefighting, and ELV interfaces
- NFPA 72, BS 5839, IEC standards, and relevant codes
- UAE Civil Defence regulations
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Estimation or ERP software and Excel costing tools
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–7 years of estimation experience in Fire and Life Safety or ELV systems.
- UAE or GCC experience preferred.
- Knowledge of BOQs, material take-offs, costing, tender estimation, and supplier negotiation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and commercial skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet multiple tender deadlines.
