Job Summary
We are seeking a high-performing Tendering Estimation Engineer to develop and prepare pre-contract bid pricing for Buildings projects (Hospitals, Commercial, Residential, Towers) in Saudi Arabia.
This role focuses on tender pricing deliverables including priced BOQ, rate build-ups, RFQs, bid comparisons, and tender price breakdowns.
Applicants must select one track: Track A CSA (Civil/Architectural/Finishes/Fit-out) or Track B MEP (HVAC/Plumbing/Firefighting/Electrical/ELV).
Key Responsibilities
- Review ITT/tender documents, drawings, and specifications; confirm scope completeness and commercial assumptions.
- Prepare priced BOQ / tender price breakdown covering direct costs, indirect costs, and required clarifications/exclusions.
- Develop rate analyses / rate build-ups using productivity norms, resources, and market quotations.
- Coordinate with Procurement to issue RFQs to suppliers/subcontractors; analyze received quotations and support bid comparisons/bid tabs.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve discrepancies and produce tender clarifications (RFIs where required).
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization without compromising compliance.
- Maintain updated databases for material prices, subcontractor rates, productivity benchmarks, and market intelligence.
- Support tender submission activities and assist in technical/commercial alignment as required.
- Build and maintain structured estimating models in Advanced Excel and update estimates in the ERP system for internal approvals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil / Architectural / Mechanical / Electrical or related).
- Minimum 5 years of tendering / estimation experience in Saudi Arabia (Buildings projects).
- Proven experience in pre-contract tendering / bid pricing for Buildings projects.
- Strong hands-on capability in:
Cost estimating / tender pricing
Rate build-up / unit rate analysis
Advanced Excel pricing models and structured estimate build
- Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications, and scope interfaces (especially for hospitals and high-rise buildings).
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with ERP and estimating tools (as applicable).
- Strong communication, organization, and deadline management skills.
Important Note:
This is a Tendering / Pre-Contract Estimation role. Candidates whose experience is primarily post-contract (claims, IPC, final accounts, variations administration) will not be considered.
