Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for aluminum, façade, glazing, and related projects. The role will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier quotations, and ensuring all estimates align with project specifications and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for aluminum and façade works.
- Estimate costs for aluminum profiles, glass, hardware, accessories, cladding, fabrication, installation, labor, and other related materials.
- Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Production, and Project teams to ensure accurate pricing.
- Identify discrepancies, exclusions, risks, and potential variations during the tender and estimation stage.
- Prepare value engineering and cost-saving proposals where applicable.
- Maintain updated databases for material prices, labor rates, supplier quotations, and subcontractor costs.
- Support the preparation and pricing of variations and additional works.
- Review actual project costs and compare them with estimated costs to improve future estimates.
- Ensure estimates are submitted accurately and within the required deadlines.
- Assist management with commercial and technical analysis of new opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in estimation within the aluminum, façade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or aluminum fabrication industry.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum profiles, façade systems, curtain walls, windows, doors, glass, hardware, and related accessories.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
- Strong experience in quantity take-offs, costing, and preparing detailed estimates.
- Knowledge of fabrication and installation costs for aluminum and façade systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of AutoCAD and estimation/ERP software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
