Job Title: Tender Estimator – Prefabricated ManufacturingRole Summary

The Tender Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and compliant tender submissions for prefabricated manufacturing projects. This role manages the estimating process from initial enquiry through final submission, ensuring all technical, and contractual requirements are clearly understood and priced. This role works closely with sales, engineering, production, and procurement teams to evaluate drawings, specifications, and schedules, ensuring pricing reflects material, labor, manufacturing, logistics, and installation costs.

Key Responsibilities

·       Review tender documentation including structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, schedules, and contractual conditions

·       Analyze scope of work and manufacturing processes for prefabricated components and associated services

·       Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, manufacturing labor, overheads, logistics, installation, and risk allowances

·       Perform quantity takeoffs

• Account for logistics, packaging, transportation, and on-site installation costs with coordination to Logistics Department.
• Coordinate with engineering and production teams to validate constructability, scope, and methodology
• Price materials, hardware, finishes, and outsourced components using supplier quotes from the Procurement Department

·       Identify tender risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities

·       Ensure compliance with tender requirements and submission deadlines

·       Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, risks, value engineering options, and alternative proposals

• Support sales and project teams during bid clarification, negotiation and post-tender reviews
• Maintain accurate records of tender pricing, cost data, historical benchmarks and standard assemblies
• Track actual project costs vs. estimates to improve future accuracy

 

Qualifications & Experience

·       Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline

·       2+ years of estimating or tendering experience, preferably in prefabrication, modular construction, or manufacturing

·       Strong understanding of construction methods, tender processes, and manufacturing workflows

• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications
• Familiarity with cost estimating software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, ERP Software, estimating platforms)

Preferred Experience

·       Tendering for off-site, modular, or panelized construction systems

·       Experience with design-and-build or design-assist procurement models

·       Knowledge of local construction standards and codes
