WhizzHR is hiring an Event Manager to work with a leading Travel/Event company in Dubai!
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Manager to lead the planning, execution, and financial oversight of our diverse portfolio of corporate events, conferences, and exhibitions within the MICE industry. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, exceptional financial acumen, and a successful track record of delivering high-impact events both locally and remotely.
Qualifications & Essential Skills
Education: University Degree in Event Management, Tourism Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:Minimum 4-5 years of progressive, relevant experience in the MICE industry or corporate event management, including experience managing complex projects and/or supervising a small team.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate project teams (internal and external) to achieve successful event outcomes.
Location: Preferably residing in Dubai, UAE, with strong knowledge of local venues and suppliers.
Language: Excellent command of both written and spoken English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic or another language is a strong asset.
Technical Proficiency: Expert working knowledge of MS OFFICE Suite and relevant project management or event planning software (e.g., budgeting tools, registration platforms).
Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and crisis management skills with adaptability to the high-pressure demands and intense work schedules of the sector.
Responsibilities
The Event Manager drives the strategic planning and execution of all events, ensuring they meet financial, compliance, and strategic objectives.
Strategic Event Planning & Oversight:Define the strategy, scope, objectives, and success metrics for all assigned events. Oversee the comprehensive coordination, theme development, venue procurement, and detailed logistical planning.
Financial & Budget Management:Develop, manage, and reconcile high-level event budgets (including P&L accountability) . Ensure maximum cost-efficiency and timely financial reporting.
Team & Resource Leadership:Lead and direct event coordinators, temporary staff, and cross-functional teams, delegating tasks and managing workloads to ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
Supplier & Key Stakeholder Management:Negotiate and finalize contracts with venues, vendors, and suppliers. Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with high-value clients and internal stakeholders.
Compliance and Risk Management:Ensure rigorous adherence to all local regulations, permits, health and safety standards, and company policies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential event risks.
Execution and Reporting:Direct all phases of event execution (pre-event, onsite, and post-event). Analyze event performance data, delivering executive-level reports on ROI, financial outcomes, and attendee feedback.
Presentation & Proposal Development:Develop and present professional, compelling proposals and post-event analysis presentations to senior management and key clients.
