Job Description

Level: Entry-Level to Mid-Level
We are seeking a proactive, energetic, and results-driven Event Sales professional to generate new business opportunities, promote event services, acquire clients, and drive revenue through events, exhibitions, corporate functions, conferences, and other event-related solutions. The role will involve client prospecting, relationship management, sales presentations, proposal development, negotiation, and coordination with internal event teams. Current Malaysia event-sales roles commonly combine client acquisition, event promotion, customer relationship management, revenue generation, and coordination with event operations. Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities for events, exhibitions, conferences, activations, and related services.
• Prospect for potential clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, social media, email outreach, and industry events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event organizers, brands, agencies, and business partners.
• Understand client requirements, event objectives, budgets, timelines, and expected outcomes.
• Promote and present the company's event venues, services, packages, solutions, and capabilities.
• Prepare sales proposals, quotations, presentations, event packages, and commercial offers.
• Conduct client meetings, site visits, sales presentations, and event consultations.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through negotiation, closing, and post-event follow-up.
• Negotiate pricing, packages, contracts, payment terms, and other commercial arrangements within company guidelines.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, prospect database, customer records, and sales activity reports.
• Follow up on enquiries, proposals, quotations, contracts, deposits, and outstanding client requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Event Management, Operations, Production, Marketing, Creative, and Finance teams to ensure successful event delivery.
• Support event planning by communicating confirmed client requirements and commercial commitments to the relevant teams.
• Attend exhibitions, networking sessions, trade shows, roadshows, conferences, and industry events to generate leads.
• Develop strategic partnerships with corporate organizations, agencies, sponsors, suppliers, and other event-related stakeholders.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, event industry developments, and customer preferences.
• Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, sponsorships, additional event services, and repeat business.
• Gather client feedback and identify opportunities to improve event products, packages, and customer experience.
• Prepare regular sales performance reports, forecasts, pipeline updates, and management presentations.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients before, during, and after events to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Support post-event reviews and analyze sales performance, client satisfaction, and revenue results.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, lead conversion, customer retention, and overall commercial performance.
Requirements
• Previous experience in Event Sales, Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Hospitality Sales, Exhibition Sales, or a related role is preferred.
• Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to prospect for new clients and develop long-term customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of the sales cycle, lead generation, pipeline management, negotiation, and closing techniques.
• Customer-focused, target-driven, proactive, and results-oriented personality.
• Ability to understand client requirements and recommend suitable event solutions.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work with budgets, quotations, proposals, and contracts.
• Experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and sales reporting tools.
• Excellent follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple prospects and projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Event Operations, Marketing, Creative, Production, Finance, and other internal teams.
• Comfortable attending client meetings, networking events, exhibitions, conferences, and industry functions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or public holidays when required by events.
• Knowledge of MICE, corporate events, exhibitions, conferences, hospitality, brand activations, or experiential marketing is an advantage.
• Existing corporate, agency, hospitality, or event-industry networks are an advantage.
• Additional language skills such as Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, or other languages are an advantage.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, Event Management, Communications, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong communication skills and an interest in sales and events may be considered for suitable entry-level positions.
