Events Manager (Sales)

Summary

The Events Manager is responsible for leading event and group sales activities, driving revenue and profitability, and ensuring the seamless management of confirmed business from planning through completion. The role combines commercial strategy, client relationship management, cross-departmental coordination, and team leadership to deliver exceptional events aligned with the property's luxury positioning and service standards.

Main Duties:

• Lead the Events Sales team in generating, converting, and managing event and group business while achieving revenue and profitability targets.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase banquet and catering revenue, average spend, function-space utilization, and overall commercial contribution.
• Evaluate enquiries and event mix strategically to ensure secured business aligns with commercial objectives, operational capacity, and luxury brand positioning.
• Monitor lead conversion, booking pace, production, pipeline, and forecasts, implementing actions to address performance gaps and maximize opportunities.
• Oversee the timely handling of enquiries and ensure proposals, quotations, presentations, contracts, and sales agreements are professionally prepared.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event organizers, wedding planners, agencies, and key accounts to generate repeat and referral business.
• Oversee multiple events and group stays from confirmation through planning, execution, departure, and post-event follow-up.
• Ensure a seamless handover between Groups Sales and Events, with all client requirements, contractual commitments, and operational details communicated accurately.
• Review Banquet Event Orders, group resumes, rooming lists, event checklists, VIP arrangements, permits, and other documentation for accuracy and timely distribution.
• Lead pre-convention and operational meetings while coordinating with all relevant departments to ensure seamless event and group delivery.
• Ensure contracts, deposits, credit arrangements, event permits, and supporting documentation comply with company policies, commercial guidelines, and local regulations.
• Coach and develop the Events Sales team, monitor individual and departmental performance, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional client service.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Events Management, Sales, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in event sales, group management, catering sales, or conference services, including experience within luxury hospitality environment.
• Proven track record of achieving event revenue targets, improving lead conversion, maximizing function-space utilization, and driving profitability.
• Strong leadership and team-development skills, with experience in coaching, performance management, and building a commercially focused service culture.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and client relationship-management skills, with a thorough understanding of luxury guest expectations.
• Strong knowledge of event sales systems and hotel operations, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, Opera, Envision, or similar systems.
