Execution Engineer - Tanks

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in the construction, rehabilitation, repair, and testing of fixed and floating-roof storage tanks.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in storage tank construction and rehabilitation projects.

Key Responsibilities and Required Skills

  • Prepare and implement method statements for storage tank rehabilitation.
  • Supervise bottom-plate laying, fit-up, and welding activities.
  • Manage shell-plate erection using hydraulic jacking or crane methods.
  • Supervise roof-structure assembly and installation.
  • Oversee internal floating-roof installation.
  • Manage the installation of stairways, platforms, handrails, nozzles, manholes, and other appurtenances.
  • Supervise painting, coating, and insulation activities.
  • Inspect foundations, ring walls, and tank-bottom areas before erection.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Planning, HSE, QA/QC, Civil, and other project teams.
  • Monitor construction progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in coordination with the Planning Engineer.
  • Supervise hydrostatic testing and settlement monitoring activities.
  • Support risk assessments and ensure safe execution of site activities.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of API 650 and API 653.
  • Experience with fixed-roof and floating-roof storage tanks.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, SAW, and GTAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications.
  • Understanding of civil foundation, tank-bottom foundation, and ring-wall construction activities.
  • Knowledge of construction planning and scheduling.
