Job Summary

The Executive Chef Chinese Cuisine is responsible for leading all culinary operations related to authentic and modern Chinese cuisine. This role oversees menu creation, kitchen management, food quality, cost control, and staff leadership while ensuring consistency, innovation, and adherence to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Menu Development

• Design, develop, and execute authentic and contemporary Chinese menus (regional cuisines such as Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese, etc.)
• Ensure exceptional food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency
• Innovate seasonal menus and special offerings while respecting culinary traditions
• Standardize recipes and portion controls

Kitchen Operations & Management

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including production planning and workflow efficiency
• Manage multiple kitchen outlets or sections where applicable
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP or local regulations)
• Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements

Team Leadership & Training

• Recruit, train, and supervise chefs and kitchen staff
• Foster a high-performance, disciplined, and collaborative kitchen culture
• Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing skills development
• Mentor junior chefs in Chinese culinary techniques and standards

Cost Control & Inventory Management

• Manage food costs, labor costs, and kitchen budgets
• Source high-quality ingredients and negotiate with suppliers
• Control waste, inventory, and purchasing processes
• Monitor financial performance and meet profitability targets

Quality Assurance & Guest Satisfaction

• Maintain high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction
• Address guest feedback and resolve culinary-related issues promptly
• Collaborate with front-of-house and management teams to enhance the dining experience

Recruitment Process and Timeline

First, you apply, and our talent attraction team will review your profile. If your profile matches our requirements, you will receive a link to schedule a meeting with a recruiter at your convenience. This meeting is an opportunity for you to share more about yourself and for us to get to know you better.

If you are shortlisted, you will meet with our hiring managers. Depending on the role and its requirements, you may need to attend 2-3 interview rounds. These rounds could include a case study, role-play, trial assignment, or live coding session, which will be communicated to you in the initial conversation.

Upon successful completion of the interview rounds, your recruiter will contact you to discuss the offer. We aim to complete this process within 2-3 weeks.
