About Manara School

Manara School started its first year of operation in the Fall of 2023, with its inaugural class of 2028. The school is expected to grow to 500 students. As a co-educational residential school, with a mission to provide exceptional students with a world-class education based on ethics, academics, and diversity, Manara continues to build its organizational systems and infrastructure.

Reporting to: : Dining Hall Manager

Job Scope: Lead the daily food preparation for students and staff across all meals. Ensures food safety, quality, and nutrition. The Executive Chef also takes an active hands-on role in cooking, team training, and managing kitchen resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Planning & Preparation

• Plan weekly menus tailored to student and staff nutritional needs.
• Prepare and supervise breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items.
• Ensure diversity in meals while considering dietary restrictions
• Actively cook key dishes daily and assist the team during peak times.

Kitchen Team Supervision

• Lead and schedule junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Conduct on-the-job training in cooking, hygiene, and efficiency.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Enforce compliance with food safety standards and school health policies.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness, proper food storage, and labeling.
• Store ingredients properly according to food safety rules (hot/cold storage).

Inventory & Resource Management

• Monitor inventory levels, track waste, and manage portions.
• Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely availability of ingredients.

Support to School Events |

• Prepare special meals during events, Ramadan, or field trips.

Student Environment Awareness

• Model cleanliness, discipline, and teamwork in front of students.
• Communicate respectfully with staff and students when needed.
