Executive - Electrical (Pharmaceutical Industry)
REPORTING To: Engineering - Head
Role Context & Purpose
As part of a greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing setup, the Executive - Electrical will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems that support production and operational excellence. The role focuses on ensuring high reliability, compliance with UAE regulations and international standards, energy efficiency, and the integration of innovative technologies to support the organization's growth. Additionally, the incumbent will focus on pharmaceutical-specific electrical systems, ensuring their optimal performance and compliance.
This role is best suited for candidates with experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, and commission electrical systems and equipment specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing, including HVAC systems, cleanroom lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to guarantee optimal functionality and longevity of electrical equipment.
- Develop and implement electrical safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure workplace safety.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of specialized equipment such as autoclaves, sterilizers, and other pharmaceutical-grade machinery.
- Ensure compliance with UAE energy and safety standards as well as international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and NFPA.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical systems and equipment issues efficiently to minimize operational disruptions in production lines.
- Collaborate with project teams during the construction phase to integrate electrical systems seamlessly within GMP-compliant
environments.
- Prepare technical specifications and tender documents for procurement of electrical equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including electrical schematics, maintenance logs, and operational manuals tailored to pharmaceutical systems.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery and quality of electrical components and services.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians on electrical system operations and safety, particularly in pharmaceutical contexts.
- Actively participate in audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and automation in electrical systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor and optimize energy consumption in critical pharmaceutical systems such as temperature-controlled storage and process equipment.
- Support validation protocols for equipment and systems to meet GMP and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Specifications
Experience + Exposure + Education
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Expertise in electrical design, maintenance, and energy optimization, especially for pharmaceutical systems.
- Proficiency in UAE electrical codes and global standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- 9-16 years of experience in electrical engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
