The Pet Physician - A family veterinary practice
Know the medicine| Know the patient| Know the family
At The Pet Physician, we believe being a veterinarian should mean more than knowing what is written in their medical record.
It means knowing that Bailey refuses tablets unless they are hidden in cheese. Mimi 19yo domestic short hair becomes unusually quiet before she becomes clinically unwell. Buddy an elderly Labrador who still insists on carrying his favourite toy may be telling us something about his quality of life that a laboratory result cannot.
We are looking for a Senior Veterinarian who wants to practise this kind of medicine.
The Pet Physician is a family veterinary clinic built around continuity, familiarity and long-standing relationships with the pets and families entrusted to us.
We care for our patients through the ordinary and the unexpected. From vaccinations and wellness examinations, the first dental, an unexplained change in appetite, a complicated medical work-up, surgery, an emergency, chronic disease, and eventually to the realities of growing older.
Our philosophy mirrors the commitment expressed throughout our practice: we are here not simply to treat illness, but to know our patients normal patterns and habits and walk alongside them throughout their lives.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with sound clinical judgement, strong general-practice capabilities and genuine affection for relationship-based veterinary medicine.
You should enjoy medicine enough to investigate a difficult case properly, but also understand that some of the most valuable clinical information comes from simply knowing the patient.
Continuity is not merely good service. It is good medicine.
We particularly value a veterinarian who:
an interest in mentoring and supporting less experienced veterinarians.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our clinic is supported by in-house IDEXX diagnostics, digital radiography and dental radiography, ultrasound, iM3 dentistry, tonometry, dedicated canine and feline hospital wards, surgical facilities, VIN access and access to visiting imaging and specialist support.
A four-day work week with 1 weekend, competitive senior-level remuneration, CPE support and genuine opportunities for continuing professional development are part of the existing employment proposition.
More importantly, you will join a practice where senior clinicians are trusted to practise medicine thoughtfully, contribute ideas and help shape how the practice continues to develop.
If this sounds like the kind of medicine you would like to practise, we would very much like to meet you. Please reach us at [Confidential Information]
