Job Description

Kuwait Airways is activity recruiting for the position of Expert, Planning & Technical Research in the Operations department. In this role your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Basic Function and Scope:

Plans, develops and coordinates the Operations Department Projects & Planning activities related to new aircraft types, simulators and other complex technical equipment and associated software. Ensures that all projects are thoroughly evaluated from technical and financial points of view, and prepares recommendations to Deputy Director Operations, Ground Management for further action. Studies developments in operating practices and standards issued by national and international regulatory bodies and prepares suitable recommendations to supervisor where these impact upon KACs operations. Assists, provides information and supports to relevant Sections in other KACs Departments using Operational / Aviation related automated system, such as FLEET WATCH, CREW MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, LIDO-OC SYSTEM, etc. and generating the data Warehouse from these systems to furnish benefit to all KAC departments.

Tasks and Duties:

a. Plans, develops and coordinates the activities of assigned personnel in the Operations Ground Management and (Planning & Technical Research) . Performs duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by Management for the position.

b. Monitors the activities of international organizations like ICAO and IATA, and regulatory authorities like FAA, CAA and DGCA, and other countries through which the Corporation operates, in regard to rules and regulations affecting aircraft operations.

c. Examines amendments and additions to such as the ICAO Annexes, IATA regulations to access and evaluate their impact upon KAC operations and commercial economics. Presents his conclusions and recommendations to the supervisor for his directions.

d. Obtains professional comments and suggestions from Chief Pilots and other senior members of the Operations Department on operational changes in response to new regulations. Make contacts as necessary with Ground Handling and Engineering Departments and aircraft and engine manufacturers. Reports to Deputy Operations Director for further information and action.

Requirements

a. Bachelors degree in Computer Science.

b. Minimum 12 years&apos experience in data validation and control, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity with a major airline in addition to 10 years extensive experience in operational IT applications inclusive of software development and hardware maintenance.
