AirQ is looking for a
Facility Technician to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upkeep of our facilities. The role will provide hands-on technical support for facility maintenance, repairs, renovation activities, asset tracking, contractor coordination, and general facility operations.
The successful candidate will be practical, technically capable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while coordinating closely with the Facilities and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Operations
- Perform routine inspections of office, workshop, warehouse, and facility areas.
- Carry out general maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and basic building maintenance works.
- Identify facility defects, maintenance requirements, and potential safety issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
- Maintain facility equipment, tools, fixtures, fittings, and infrastructure in good working condition.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and scheduled facility inspections.
Renovation & Repair Support
- Provide hands-on support during renovation, modification, and improvement projects.
- Coordinate and follow up on repair and maintenance activities.
- Assist with installation, relocation, modification, and dismantling of facility equipment and fixtures.
- Ensure maintenance and renovation work is completed according to required quality and safety standards.
- Report any technical issues, delays, or additional maintenance requirements to the responsible manager.
Contractor & Service Provider Coordination
- Coordinate with external maintenance contractors and service providers.
- Monitor contractor activities while they are working within company facilities.
- Ensure contractors follow site safety procedures and company requirements.
- Verify completion of assigned maintenance and repair works.
- Follow up on pending maintenance jobs and ensure timely closure.
Asset & Facility Support
- Maintain accurate records of facility assets, equipment, tools, and maintenance activities.
- Support asset tagging, tracking, and periodic verification.
- Monitor the condition of facility equipment and report replacement or repair requirements.
- Assist with maintaining facility-related documentation and maintenance records.
General Facility Support
- Support the Facilities team with day-to-day operational requirements.
- Assist with warehouse, workshop, office, and common-area maintenance.
- Ensure facilities are clean, functional, safe, and properly maintained.
- Support emergency maintenance requirements when necessary.
- Carry out other facilities-related tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma, ITI, vocational qualification, or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or a similar technical role.
- Practical knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance activities.
- Experience working with maintenance tools and basic equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine facility-related issues.
- Experience coordinating with contractors and external service providers is an advantage.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on maintenance activities.
- UAE experience is preferred.
