Job Description

About Mighty Foods

Here at Mighty Foods, we're going through an exciting period of growth, building and scaling food and snack brands that combine great taste, quality and better choices.

As part of our next chapter, we are launching a new state-of-the-art chocolate manufacturing facility in Egypt and are looking for an experienced Factory Manager to lead it from start-up into a world-class manufacturing operation.

If you are passionate about chocolate manufacturing, building high-performing teams and creating something from the ground up, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Role:

As Factory Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful start-up, ramp-up and day-to-day operation of our new chocolate factory.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both the science of chocolate and the discipline of manufacturing.

You will lead factory operations across production, engineering and maintenance, operational performance and people development, working closely with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain and other functions to deliver consistently excellent products safely, efficiently and at scale.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  •  Lead the commissioning, start-up and ramp-up of the new chocolate manufacturing operation.
  •  Build a safe, disciplined and performance-driven factory culture from day one.
  •  Lead daily production operations to achieve targets for safety, quality, service, cost and people.
  • Establish and continuously improve manufacturing standards, SOPs, process parameters and operating routines.
  • Drive manufacturing performance across OEE, yield, waste, downtime, productivity, changeovers and schedule attainment.
  • Ensure robust control of chocolate manufacturing processes including refining/ball milling, tempering, moulding/depositing, fillings, enrobing, cooling and packaging.
  • Build effective preventive-maintenance and equipment-reliability systems and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a capable team of production supervisors, engineers, technicians and operators.
  • Partner closely with Quality and Food Safety to ensure strong GMP, HACCP, allergen and hygiene standards and support the factory's journey toward BRCGS-level manufacturing standards.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement initiatives across production losses, quality defects and equipment performance.
  • Establish clear factory KPIs, daily management routines and performance reviews.
  • Manage manufacturing costs and continuously improve material yield, labor productivity, energy efficiency and conversion cost.
  • Work closely with R&D and Quality during industrial trials, product scale-up and the introduction of new products and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct chocolate or confectionery manufacturing experience.
  • Strong practical understanding of chocolate processing, tempering, crystallization, viscosity, cooling, moulding/depositing, enrobing and common chocolate quality defects.
  • Experience leading production teams and managing factory KPIs such as OEE, waste, yield, downtime and productivity.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, GMP and HACCP; BRCGS or FSSC 22000 experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM or other continuous-improvement systems is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in factory commissioning, new-line start-up or manufacturing ramp-up would be highly valued.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Comfortable being highly visible and hands-on on the factory floor.

The Person We're Looking For

We are looking for more than someone who can simply run a factory. We want someone who can build one.

Someone who enjoys solving difficult manufacturing problems, develops people, challenges the status quo and takes genuine ownership of performance.

You should be equally comfortable discussing chocolate tempering with a process engineer, investigating downtime with maintenance, reviewing OEE with the production team and developing the next generation of factory leaders.

Above all, you should have the ambition to help us build a chocolate manufacturing operation that can compete with the very best.
