Core Purpose
To lead and manage the end-to-end operations of the production facility, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality fabrication of exhibition stands, event structures, and bespoke fit-outs. The Factory Manager is responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, operational efficiency, health and safety, and continuous improvement across all factory functions.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Operations & Production
- Department Oversight: Oversee all factory departments: carpentry, metalwork, painting, CNC, finishing, and logistics.
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules in alignment with project timelines and resource availability.
- Resource Management: Monitor and optimize factory capacity, manpower planning, and equipment utilization.
- Cross-Team Alignment: Drive collaboration between Design, Project Management, Procurement, and Site Teams for seamless project delivery.
Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Quality Control: Ensure fabrication and fit-out meet company quality standards and client requirements.
- Compliance: Uphold health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.
- Workflow Optimization: Continuously review and enhance workflows to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
- Troubleshooting: Lead production meetings, addressing operational challenges and implementing solutions.
Financial Control & Team Leadership
- Budget Management: Manage and control factory budgets, reduce wastage, and drive cost efficiencies.
- Data & Analytics: Maintain accurate production tracking, reporting, and performance analytics.
- People Development: Coach and develop supervisors and skilled workers to foster a high-performance culture.
Skills / Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related technical field.
- 810 years experience in production/factory environments, with 3+ years in a managerial role in exhibitions, events, or interior fit-out.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of materials, production workflows, and finishing techniques for event and exhibition fabrication.
- Proficient in CAD drawing interpretation and technical specifications.
- Experienced in ERP/production management systems and MS Office Suite.
Leadership & Core Skills
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound knowledge of workplace safety regulations and compliance.
