Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Chemistry Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. This role focuses on delivering foundational chemistry courses to pre-medical students, building strong scientific understanding and preparing them for advanced healthcare studies.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver Chemistry lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for preparatory year students
- Simplify core concepts such as general chemistry, basic organic chemistry, and chemical principles
- Apply student-centered teaching methods to enhance engagement and comprehension
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools effectively
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports
Student Support
- Provide academic advising and support for foundation-level students
- Identify and support students facing academic challenges
- Encourage analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure alignment with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
- Submit course reports and academic documentation on time
Collaboration & Engagement
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic initiatives
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistent curriculum delivery
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
- Experience teaching Chemistry (preferably preparatory/foundation programs)
- Strong ability to explain complex concepts in a simple, structured way
- Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
