Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Physics Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. This role focuses on building students understanding of fundamental physics concepts and developing analytical and problem-solving skills essential for healthcare and medical studies.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver Physics lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for preparatory year students
- Teach core topics such as mechanics, energy, waves, electricity, and basic optics
- Simplify complex concepts for students from diverse academic backgrounds
- Apply student-centered teaching approaches to enhance engagement and understanding
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital tools effectively
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft or equivalent)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports
Student Support
- Provide academic guidance to students with varying levels of physics background
- Identify struggling students and provide targeted support
- Develop students analytical thinking and quantitative reasoning
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
- Submit course reports and academic documentation on time
Collaboration & Engagement
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic initiatives
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure aligned curriculum delivery
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Physics or a related field
- Experience teaching Physics (preferably preparatory/foundation programs)
- Strong ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively
- Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
