Job Description

Job Title: Field Compliance Coordinator – Gas Plants (Environment)

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Field Compliance Coordinator – Environment to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across gas plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing environmental management programs, conducting field inspections and audits, managing waste and spill response activities, and promoting a strong environmental culture across operational sites.

This role requires a proactive environmental professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, strong technical knowledge of environmental management systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable environmental regulations, industry standards, and company environmental procedures.
  • Implement and oversee hazardous, non-hazardous, and special waste management programs, including waste minimization, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal.
  • Conduct environmental field inspections, audits, and compliance assessments across operational facilities.
  • Coordinate air emissions monitoring, wastewater sampling, and soil assessments, ensuring timely reporting and closure of corrective actions.
  • Lead environmental spill response coordination, incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and update site Spill Prevention, Control, and Response plans.
  • Monitor environmental corrective actions and ensure timely implementation through environmental tracking systems.
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Deliver environmental inductions, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and environmental training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental performance reports.
  • Promote a proactive environmental culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, HSE, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A Master's degree is considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of environmental experience, including at least 7 years within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental management best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Experience in environmental inspections, audits, compliance monitoring, and incident investigations.
  • Strong understanding of environmental impact assessments and environmental risk management.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management practices and environmental permitting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to deliver environmental training and promote environmental awareness across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in project coordination, reporting, and environmental performance tracking.

  • ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor
  • NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
  • Hazardous Waste Management Certification
  • Other relevant environmental or HSE professional certifications
