The Field Service Engineer provides on-site engineering and technical support for aircraft maintenance and operational activities. The role is responsible for resolving fleet-related technical issues, coordinating engineering deliverables, maintaining compliance with airworthiness and safety standards, and liaising with customers, OEMs, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
The position supports aircraft availability, reliability and continued airworthiness through accurate engineering analysis, timely implementation of technical requirements and effective coordination across operational and maintenance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for aircraft maintenance and operational requirements.
- Analyze technical issues and develop safe, practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare engineering instructions, assessments and recommendations.
- Review and support the implementation of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, modifications and repairs.
- Liaise with customers, OEMs, suppliers and internal teams.
- Support aircraft reliability, continued airworthiness, lifecycle improvement and obsolescence activities.
- Interpret technical and contractual requirements and deliver assigned outputs on time.
- Maintain accurate technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Support continuous improvement, cost reduction and personnel development initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Avionics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant aviation engineering experience.
- At least two years in aircraft field service, technical support or a similar engineering role.
- Military aviation experience is preferred.
- Experience with aircraft maintenance, airworthiness requirements, technical documentation and OEM coordination.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, safety, quality and engineering practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD or other engineering software experience is advantageous.
