Roles & responsibilities:
Maintenance Management
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize production downtime.
- Lead the maintenance team to achieve plant reliability and operational excellence.
- Plan and supervise maintenance schedules for production lines and utility equipment.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
Equipment Reliability
- Oversee maintenance of cast stretch film extrusion lines and related production equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation issues.
- Coordinate major equipment overhauls, shutdowns, and installation projects.
- Ensure spare parts availability and optimize inventory levels.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives and support Lean Manufacturing and TPM programs.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development needs.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE policies and regulations.
- Enforce safe work practices, permit-to-work procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
Budget & Asset Management
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget.
- Control maintenance expenses while maintaining equipment reliability.
- Manage maintenance contracts and coordinate with OEMs and external service providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional maintenance or reliability certifications are an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- 10–15 years of maintenance experience in the plastic manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a Maintenance Manager or similar leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with Cast Stretch Film, blown film, or plastic extrusion manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of extrusion lines, chill rolls, winders, dosing systems, air compressors, chillers, cooling systems, and utility equipment.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems.
- Proven track record of improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
