Job Description

Finance Assistant

The Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) is looking for a motivated and detail oriented Finance Assistant to support the Finance Department in the day to day financial and administrative operations of the Association.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with annual budgeting, budget monitoring and financial reporting.
  2. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, collections and payment follow ups.
  3. Maintain the General Ledger and assist with preparation of monthly financial and management reports.
  4. Assist with bank reconciliations, Balance Sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasts and petty cash management.
  5. Support the preparation and management of grants and funding received from Sport Singapore, ICC and ACC, ensuring expenditure is recorded under the appropriate funding categories.
  6. Prepare quarterly Statements of Accounts, expense reports, variance analysis and other financial reports required by Sport Singapore, ICC and ACC.
  7. Support annual and compliance audits, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documents and responses to auditor queries.
  8. Assist with payroll processing and ensure payments, refunds and invoices are processed accurately and on a timely basis.
  9. Maintain accurate records of payments to contractors and vendors and support reimbursement tracking.
  10. Assist with the review and implementation of financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
  11. Support statutory and regulatory filings, including ROS and IPC filings.
  12. Assist the Treasurer, CEO and Finance Manager with financial reports and other finance related matters as required.
  13. Ensure compliance with SCA, Sport Singapore, ICC and ACC financial requirements and procedures.
  14. Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  3. Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  4. Proficiency in MYOB accounting software is preferred.
  5. Experience working with a charity, National Sports Association or sports organisation would be an advantage.
  6. Good understanding of financial controls, accounting procedures and regulatory requirements.
  7. Strong analytical, organisational and problem solving skills.
  8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Detail oriented, responsible and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
