This is a broad, commercially focused finance role combining FP&A, business partnering, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and financial controllership. The successful candidate will work closely with business and senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

We are searching for a qualified accountant with strong commercial finance experience and hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion and Hyperion/EPM. Candidates who have moved across different areas of finance, particularly from finance consultancy, FP&A, financial planning or commercial finance, would be well suited to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes across the business.
  • Provide regular financial performance reporting, variance analysis and gap analysis, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to business leaders, developing a strong understanding of their operations, objectives and financial requirements.
  • Provide financial insight and consultancy to support strategic decisions, investments, business cases and commercial initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses to support decision-making.
  • Analyse key business value drivers, including revenue, tariffs, contracts, operating costs and capital projects.
  • Support commercial negotiations and contract structuring, providing financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Build and review bottom-up budgets, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned with business plans.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) from a budget and financial control perspective.
  • Maintain effective budgetary controls, including the appropriate allocation of profit centres, cost centres and natural accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close and controllership activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assess the financial impact of regulatory, tax and other external developments and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support audit activities, internal controls, financial governance and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare clear and compelling management presentations and financial decks for business leaders, C-suite stakeholders, regulators, vendors and customers.
  • Support internalisation initiatives and portfolio expansion activities, providing financial analysis and commercial insight.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Leverage financial systems and reporting tools to improve the quality, efficiency and automation of financial planning and reporting.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent.
  • Strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering and financial analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion and Hyperion / Oracle EPM is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Experience working with complex business environments, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, energy, waste management or other capital-intensive industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into commercial insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting contracts, negotiations, business cases and investment decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with business leaders and senior management.
  • Experience preparing financial presentations and reporting packs for a variety of audiences, including C-suite, regulators, vendors and customers.
  • Strong Power BI and data visualisation skills are preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a broad role that combines FP&A, business partnering, commercial finance and controllership.
  • Experience in a consulting/finance advisory environment combined with in-house FP&A or commercial finance experience would be advantageous.
