Job Description

We are partnering with a semi government regional organisation in Dubai to appoint an experienced Financial Consultant (Tax) to support the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of VAT frameworks across the group. This role sits within the Finance & Tax function and reports directly to the Finance & Tax Manager.

The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in supporting Vat, compliance, and governance, working closely with internal finance teams, external tax advisors, and auditors in a complex, multi-entity environment.

This is a 6 month renewable contract role in the organization and reports to the Senior Tax manager in the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support VAT compliance and optimisation initiatives, including reviews of transactional data, tax treatments, and controls.
  • Prepare and review VAT-related schedules, reconciliations, and supporting working papers for filings, audits, and internal reviews.
  • Support the design and implementation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) with a specific focus on tax-related controls and risk areas.
  • Perform targeted trial balance and tax ledger reviews to identify, resolve, and remediate historical or legacy tax and accounting issues impacting tax compliance.
  • Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations from a tax perspective, ensuring appropriate treatment and documentation.
  • Act as a key point of coordination with external tax advisors and auditors, supporting tax audits, assessments, and regulatory queries.
  • Contribute to tax-related reporting for senior stakeholders, including risk assessments, impact analysis, and implementation updates.
  • Support ad-hoc tax advisory and implementation initiatives as required by the Finance & Tax function.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong grounding in UAE VAT fundamentals, with hands-on exposure to implementation and post-implementation environments.
  • 58 years of relevant experience in Corporate Tax, VAT, audit, or tax advisory, preferably within a Big 4 or leading professional services firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related discipline; professional qualification preferred (CA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of tax governance, compliance frameworks, ICFR, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Corporate Tax compliance, VAT reviews, tax controls, and tax-related reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex financial data through a tax and risk lens.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, auditors, and external tax advisors.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working independently across multiple entities and tax workstreams.
