Finance & Cost Accountant

Role Summary:

We are hiring a Finance & Cost Accountant to own the day-to-day books and the production accounting.

This is a hands-on role, not a management position. You will personally execute the accounting work in QuickBooks Online and personally track inventory, work-in-progress and finished goods on the production side. You will work closely with the CEO and the atelier team.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance and accounting

• Daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online entities accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, expense categorization.
• Bank, credit card and petty cash reconciliations.
• Monthly close: accruals, prepayments and preparation of month-end financial statements.
• VAT filings and supporting schedules in line with UAE FTA requirements.
• Payroll entries and related reconciliations.
• Maintaining a clean audit trail and supporting documentation for all transactions.

Cost and production accounting

• Tracking raw material inventory, including purchase recording, valuation and reconciliation against physical counts.
• Maintaining work-in-progress records: which pieces are in production, materials consumed, labour applied, stage of completion.
• Monthly production close reconciling production output to inventory movements and ensuring COGS is recorded correctly.

Qualifications:

• Five to six years of accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (essential).
• Demonstrated experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting not just general ledger work.
• Solid grasp of UAE VAT and FTA filing requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. Professional qualification (CA, CMA, ACCA part-qualified or qualified) is an advantage.
• Highly organized, detail-driven, and comfortable owning month-end close independently.
• Discreet you will handle confidential financial and client information.
• Written and spoken English required.
