We are seeking a hands-on Finance Executive to join our Singapore office on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. The role supports day-to-day accounting and finance operations across Singapore and the wider APAC region, covering cashiering, client monies, accounts payable, employee expenses, billing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process receipts and payments for client and office accounts in accordance with client money regulations and internal policies.
- Perform daily reconciliations and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Monitor client account balances and support internal and external audits.
- Review supplier invoices and ensure compliance with GST and withholding tax requirements.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure timely settlement of obligations.
- Support month-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, journals and fixed-asset records.
- Prepare quarterly GST returns for review.
- Review and process employee expenses and corporate credit-card reconciliations.
- Review client bills and ensure compliance with applicable tax requirements and firm policies.
- Respond to finance queries and guide employees on payment, expense and billing procedures.
- Maintain proper accounting records, segregation of duties and internal controls.
- Support regulatory reporting, audits, compliance reviews and process-improvement initiatives.
- Provide coverage to other APAC finance team members when required.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification.
- Approximately 2-5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within a legal or professional-services environment.
- Hands-on experience in accounts payable, cashiering, billing, employee expenses and maintaining a full set of accounts.
- Familiarity with client monies regulations governing law firms is preferred.
- Experience with legal financial systems, particularly Aderant, would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel, reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with regional stakeholders.
