Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, treasury, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage project accounting, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, work-in-progress (WIP), and project profitability analysis.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with project timelines and company objectives.
  • Monitor cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
  • Implement and maintain strong cost control measures across projects to improve margins.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including variance analysis and performance insights.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders for audits, financing, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage contract financials, including variations, claims, and subcontractor payments.
  • Support tendering and bidding processes by providing financial analysis, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement in processes.
  • Implement financial systems, ERP solutions, and automation tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in finance, with a strong background in the construction or contracting industry in Qatar or GCC.
  • Minimum 5–7 years in a managerial role overseeing finance teams.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CFA is highly preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of construction finance, project accounting, and cost control.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in project-based environments.
  • In-depth understanding of contracts, claims, variations, and commercial aspects of construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
